Physical Rehabilitation — Ozark, MO
You've done the same three band exercises for months. You've been told to rest and wait. That's not rehab — that's a holding pattern.
Book YOUR AssessmentThe Approach
Most rehab programs hand you a sheet of exercises and send you home. You do the same moves for weeks. Nobody checks if you're getting stronger. Nobody updates the plan. You stall — and wonder if you're doing something wrong. You're not. The program is.
At The Athlete Spot, your program gets harder as you get stronger. We track what you do, how you respond, and what needs to change. Every visit tells us something. We use it.
You always know what to do and why. Between visits, your questions get answered fast. When your program needs to change, it changes. You don't wait two weeks to find out you've been doing the wrong thing.
Every visit is focused because Dr. Kauffman already knows what shifted. No time wasted catching up. No re-explaining yourself. You get hands-on treatment, a reassessment, and an updated program — then back to training.
Nothing falls through the cracks. One doctor runs your entire case. From your first visit to the day you're stronger than before you got hurt. No rotating staff. No hand-offs.
Treatment includes what your body actually needs: dry needling (Dr. Kauffman has taught over 300 doctors the technique through the CDNP program at SmartCARE Education), spinal and joint adjustments, soft tissue work, and exercises that get harder as you get stronger. The goal isn't pain management. The goal is getting you back to full strength — and keeping you there.
The Difference
Most Clinics
The Athlete Spot
Pain-free at rest is the starting point. It's not the finish line. The goal is getting you back to your sport stronger than you were before you got hurt.
Conditions We Treat
Shoulder Injuries
Rotator cuff tears, labrum damage, frozen shoulder, impingement. Before and after surgery.
Elbow & Wrist
Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, grip problems. Pain when you lift, throw, or grip that just won't go away.
Low Back
Disc injuries, SI joint pain, deadlift pain. Rehab that builds your spine back up — not just stretches it out.
Neck & Concussion
Headaches after a concussion, dizziness from neck problems, return to play after a head injury.
Knee, Foot & Ankle
ACL recovery, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendon pain, ankle sprains that keep coming back.
Post-Surgical Recovery
Shoulder, knee, and spine surgeries. A clear path back to your sport once your surgeon clears you.
Youth Overuse Injuries
Sever's disease, Osgood-Schlatter, growth plate stress injuries. Young athletes need a different plan — not a scaled-down adult program.
If you've been told to rest and it hasn't worked, it's time for a real assessment.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from physical therapy?
Most PT clinics pass you between providers and follow whatever insurance allows. Here, the same doctor sees you every visit. He builds your plan. He adjusts it based on how your body responds — not based on what insurance will pay for. You're not a file in a shared patient load. You're Dr. Kauffman's patient.
How long does rehab take?
It depends on the injury, how long you've had it, and what you want to get back to. We give you an honest timeline at your Assessment — not a pitch for 36 visits. Some people make real progress in 6 to 8 weeks. Others with harder problems need longer. We'll tell you straight.
Do I need a referral?
No. Missouri lets you book directly — no physician referral needed. If you need imaging or a surgical consult, we'll tell you at your Assessment and explain exactly why.
Do you accept insurance?
We're cash-based. Every dollar goes to your recovery — not to paperwork. Most athletes find that fixing the real problem in fewer visits costs less than months of covered care that doesn't work.
Can rehab be done virtually?
Yes. Your program lives on your phone. Follow-up visits can happen by video. We bring you in when hands-on work is needed. The app tracks your progress between sessions so nothing gets missed.
